Dear Mr Neumanns, Thank you very much for your kind letter - both form and contents (or, in PL designer lingo: both syntax and semantics). I especially appreciated the Obix conditional statement closing your interesting letter. It is nice to hear about Obix - not so much because this is just another YAPL (Yet Another Programming Language) - but because of the excellence of your presentation and tutorial quality of your work. One can also quite feel the passion and enthusiasm that permeate your endeavor. Congratulations ... Most sincerely. Despite a rather full slate of pressing pursuits, I would be most interested in participating in what you are describing to be an open-source development project for Obix. However, even if such is restricted to my own private time, I must first inquire with my employer (IBM) regarding my contributing to such a public forum. I hope you can understand my need for obtaining clearance. Meanwhile, I will take private time (as scarce as it may turn out to be), and bring myself up to speed learning about Obix through your web postings, as well as play around with the specs (syntax and semantics) that you posted on your site. I'll use my own Java tools (JACC - Just Another Compiler Compiler) for syntax/semantics analysis. That'll get me into the core of it faster than just blank manual reading. But that'll also take time. At any rate, I do hope that you please keep me posted on your efforts by adding my email in your Obix discussion group if there is such a thing. Again, most glad that you contacted me. Let's keep in touch! ... Much to share. Cheers, -hak PS/ Are you familiar with my previous work on LIFE and compiler design for abstract machine supporting declarative languages (e.g., Warren's Abstract Machine, etc., ...)?
